Interview with Joe Wiessner
Keys to Rapid Success & Growth

Joe Wiessner has been a licensed and successful New Jersey Realtor since 1994. In 2002, he started Joe Wiessner Realty and for the past four years, he has been the broker and owner of one of New Jersey's top real estate agencies.
The Hammonton, New Jersey agency currently employs 24 licensed agents. In a relatively short time, Wiessner and his team have risen to become one of New Jersey's top real estate agencies.
Joe Wiessner sat down with the ScreenDreamer Success Team to discuss some of his keys to his agency's success. In Part I of a two-part series, Wiessner discusses how his agency was built through great real estate experts and the unique way he finds them!

Great People is the Key to Growth & Customer Service

One of the keys to the growth of Joe Wiessner Realty is the people who work there. Wiessner takes pride in the fact that his agents are experts in the types of properties they sell as well as the regions they sell in.
"We are looking for our agents to become recognized as specialists in a geographical area or in a particular profession or lifestyle. People like to buy from people who are just like them," says Wiessner.
When a client does business with a Wiessner agent they can find comfort in the fact that if they want to purchase a condo in Winslow Township that they will be dealing with an agent who is not only a Winslow Township expert, but also a condo specialist.

Real Estate Agent Recruiting the Joe Wiessner Way

In order to find these first class agents, Joe uses a unique recruiting and training process. Interested candidates must first go through a series of interviews to ensure that their values and selling style match that of the agency.
After the interview process is complete, "Then we have a seven segment orientation period," says Wiessner. "It lasts about an hour to an hour and a half for seven days. They (the potential agents) get a real nice look at what the values of the company are. Then we have a 12-week training program where once a week for approximately two hours we get into the nuts and bolts of how these systems work."
Once a trainee is officially a Wiessner agent, they can take part in the volunteer coaching program which can help them with techniques to constantly improve and meet their goals.

Giving Back to the Community Ensures Continued Success

Giving back to the community is another hallmark of Joe Wiessner Realty's commitment to service. When Wiessner and his agents aren't busy working, they give back to the South Jersey area by donating to local churches and charities. They also sponsor several youth sports teams and organizations.
Wiesssner agents don't just sell homes in South Jersey they take pride in being active members of the community. Giving back to their communities is another way for Wiessner agents to be vested in their markets.

Wiessner and his team use these types of tools to learn more about their site visitors so that they can better fulfill their needs.
"The Internet allows for an interaction with the public. There are a lot of features where the public can input information about certain properties that they like," he says. "Gathering this information, we are able to identify the buyers and sellers that are very serious in the market place. It's a very powerful tool used to capture legitimate buyers and sellers and get them in contact with our agents who can handle their real estate needs."
Wiessner explains that his biggest key to success is having a systemized method for running his business.
"We put systems in place to help the agents which trickles down to the consumer level. Our biggest reason is that we teach the agents these systems. It's not like we just shoot from the hip and hope for the best when talking to a client. There is a progression we go through to make sure the relationship is going the right way and that everything is known up front."
