"My REALTOR® did this, this and this! They were great!"
By nature, many people like to tell stories or even brag. If someone has an exceptional or horrible experience with a real estate agent, you can guarantee that their friends and family are going to hear about it.
Imagine being on the positive end of that spectrum and having your clients tell their acquaintances how wonderful you are and why they should use you to represent them. It's the equivalent, if not better than getting free press.
If you place an ad, however, you need to convince strangers to trust in you and your services. Prospects already trust their family and friends and in turn trust the good word that they are putting in for you.
Encourage Your Clients to Bring a Friend or Tell a Friend
If you throw any social events for clients or even other real estate professionals, always tell them to bring a friend. This gesture allows you to keep your current clients in your good graces, while networking with potential new clients in the area.
Don't make clients and prospects guess what you want them to do. Give them a friendly hint. When you create promotional materials for yourself: key chain, magnets etc., don't be afraid to include the phrase"tell your friends about my website". Be Kind to Your Current Clients
Do you throw in little extras? Did you go the extra mile around the closing? Do you send your clients holiday cards? All these little things can add up to a happy and lifelong client. The happier they are the better review they will give you when talking to friends and family.
Make Sure Your Advertising is Memorable
Mix your standard marketing in with word of mouth marketing. Catchy advertising gets people talking.
You want consumers seeing your ads and saying to their friends "You have to check out this advertisement; it's so great!" Or make your website so great that clients and prospects are constantly telling their friends to check it out.
Other Ways to Create Positive Buzz
- Send out lots of press releases. The more you get your company's name in the news, the more people will talk.
- Do something charitable: sponsor a little league team or conduct a toy drive for underprivileged children. This allows you to get your name out there and do something good for society at the same time.
- Give out free trinkets. Everyone loves getting something free.
- Create partnerships with people or companies that are more well known. As people talk about them, your company will get talked about too.
- Attend conventions. Allow a mass amount of potential clients to learn about you and see how you interact with people.
